RETIRING OFFICIAL
Presentation By Society
The assistant secretary of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society for the last nine years. Mrs D. Cheesman, who is retiring, was given a preex nation at the meeting of the society's council on Wednesday evening. Without the assistance of Mrs Cheesman the office could not have been kept running during one particularly difficult period, said the president (Mr F. J. Gorton). Others speakers paid tribute to Mrs Cheesman.
