The second BP postdoctoral fellowship for study overseas has been awarded to Dr. G. J. Leary, of Christchurch. He expects to take up the fellowship at an English university, to further his studies in photochemistry, later this year. •- -

Educated at Westport Technical College and Christchurch Boys High School, Dr. Leary joined the chemistry division of the Department Scientific Industrial Research in 1959, and accepted a Government award enabling him to study full-time at the University of Canterbury, where he completed a Ph.D in chemistry in 1965. He returned to the D.S.I.R. in Wellington in 1965, joining the organic section <rf the chemistry division of the department
