PARADE IN CITY
Horse-drawn Vehicles
Seven horse-drawn vehicles with drivers, passengers and walking attendants dressed in Victorian costumes lent by the Repertory Theatre will parade through Cathedral square this afternoon. Some of the vehicles will be eventually on show in the Ferrymead Historic Park museum. Six of the horses have been lent by Mr L. Bush, of Oxford, and a pony by Mr R. A. Williams, of Styx. The parade, arranged by the Junior Chamber and the New Brighton Lions Club, will start from Latimer square at 2.30 p.m., travel down Gloucester street and into Cathedral square. It will pass the Post Office and return through the square into High street, Cashel street, Madras street and finish at Latimer square.
The vehicles will include an American-style buggy, two governess carts, a spring dray, a gig, a four-wheel parcel delivery cart, and a breaking-in cart.
