Dismissed Men Placed
(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, February 26. The majority of men dismissed from their jobs at the Huntly Engineering and Welding Company, Ltd., have been placed in other positions. The firm’s manager (Mr J. L. Wight) said that he was negotiating for several contracts and it was hoped to get back into production at a later date. Some of the men dismissed, however, have had to find work in Hamilton. About half of them were engineers and the other complementary to the trade. Mr Wight said the dismissals were direct results of the economic situation.
