ACCIDENT CLAIM

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 27. A jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland today assessed general damages of £5991 in favour of a young widow whose husband was killed in a motor accident at Dairy Flat in September, 1965. Mr Justice Perry entered judgment for the plaintiff, Mrs Barbara Anne Haines, a widow, of Pukekohe, for a total of £6061 including special damages already agreed upon, in an action against Kenneth Albert Keith McDonald, a construction foreman, of Silverdale. The claim, for £13,292 and costs, was after a collision between a station waggon driven by plaintiff’s husband, Mr Neil Stuart Haines, and a loaded truck driven by Mr McDonald.
