Buried In Ditch
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Feb. 27. Resuscitation for more than two hours failed to revive a man who was buried in an Bft ditch for 10 minutes on a subdivision off Rewarewa road, Otaika, this morning. He was Peter Robert Gourlay, aged 34, a drainlayer, married, with five children, of Morningside road, Whangarei. The police report that Mr Gourlay was laying pipes in the ditch when the walls caved in and he was covered by about 4ft of earth. Mr Gourlay was dug out in about 10 minutes. Resuscitation began on the spot and was continued in the ambulance and the hospital.
