DIABETES SURVEY

Preparations At Rangiora In preparation for the main survey of diabetes to be conducted among Rangiora borough residents on the four Saturdays of April, a circular will be sent to each of more than 2000 adults tomorrow. Plans for this main survey, the first in New Zealand, are now well ahead, and “home visitors” from various service clubs and voluntary organisations will call on borough residents to explain the objects of the survey to them. To cope with the large amount of paper work, the Rangiora Diabetes Survey Committee has taken an office on the first floor of the building at 81 High street, Rangiora. Staff will be in attendance from Wednesday between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. daily.

On each Saturday during April, about 500 persons will be tested at the rate of about 150 an hour. The first persons will be asked to report at one of the three reception centres at 8.40 a.m. and the last should be through by about 1 p.m.
