RUSSLEY LAND SOLD
A small holding of eight acres two roods 19 perches adjoining 97 Roydvale avenue, Russley, was sold for £12,000 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of Kendal Farm, Ltd., by Mr E. G. Keenan. Improvements on the land include five new loose boxes, fowlhouses, shed and garage. The government valuation is £6775. Bidding was brisk. After the initial bid of £6550 there were 22 bids of £250. An older-type weatherboard house and a garage on a section of 37.8 perches at 15 Champion street, St. Albans, was sold for £2350. The sale was held by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr P. T. Battersby. The government valuation is £1775. The opening bid was c 2OOO. There were two bids of £lOO. and three of £5O. Offered on account of Mrs L. E. Stevens, a modern bungalow at 11 Kilmarnock street. Lower Riccarton, was passed in at £4700. The auctioneer was Mr N. H. McCrostie.
The house has a living-
room, dining-room, two bedrooms, kitchen-dinette, bathroom, and laundry. There is also a garage and a shed on the section of 29.5 perches. The government valuation is £4475.
