Welfare service grants amounting to £84,775 from Golden Kiwi lottery profits have been approved for the period of October to December, 1966. Local recipients of grants include Friends of the Hospital, Christchurch (£225), Christchurch City Mission (£350), Sunnyside Hospital (£100), Sisters of Our Lady of the Mission, Ashburton (£350), and St John Ambulance Association, Oamaru sub-centre (£500).
