February 23,1967.

Sir, —The holding of “national stoppages” by the Federation of Labour to criticise Government economic measures—at a time when even a former Labour M.P., Mr P. N. Holloway, admits that more “energy” must be applied—will not impress the public favourably. Federation of Labour policy, enunciated by Labour at the last election, was rejected by the country. Now, when the Government implements the Ecnomic and Monetary Council’s recommendations, Mr T. E. Skinner wants Labour’s policy enforced instead. The public will now see clearly what would have been the consequences of electing a Labour Government. It would have had to dance to the tune of the F.O.L.—Yours, etc., F.O.L. PARTY.
