Man Struck By Matai Tree
(N.Z. Press Association) 1 NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 23. A bulldozer driver was killed about 11 a.m. today at the Pureora State Forest, east of Te Kuiti, when a halfrotten matai tree, shaken free by the bulldozer’s vibrations, fell and struck him. He was Mr H. B. Flavell, aged 26, married, with five young children. Mr Flavell was with a gang of men clearing scrub.
