Polluted River
(N.Z. Press Association! HAMILTON, Feb. 26. An appeal tribunal has cancelled the B classification of the Waikato river in the locality of Terapa, because the waters there were unsuitable for the manufacture of food for human consumption. The tribunal, however, dismissed appeals against B classifications at Horoui and at Huntly and said the contra! of river pollution by classification was imperative. The tribunal’s decision came at the end of a four-day hearing of appeals by the Hamilton City Council, the Auckland Fanners’ Freezing Co-operative, and the Huntly Borough Council against the Pollution Advisory Council’s classification of the river between Huntly and Hamilton.
