Freezing Workers Go Home

About 200 members of the slaughtering team and their assistants at the Islington works of the New Zealand Refrigeration Company, Ltd., went home after midday yesterday. One group of men had held a lunch-hour meeting that continued into the early afternoon. The follow-on men at Islington ran out of work, so they decided to go home rather than wait for the men to return from the meeting. The company’s general manager (Mr W. M. Cleland) said that the lunch-hour meet, ing had been a domestic one. It is expected that the men will return this morning.
