Rudolf Nureyev is the choreographer of the new ballet production of “Don Quixote” which he is presenting in Vienna with the Vienna State Opera Ballet. Nureyev is dancing the part of Basil, a young barber who has become the central figure in this new version of the classic Spanish story of the bemused knight, Don Quixote, and his faithful servant, Sancho Panza. The original score by Ludwig. Minkus is described as having been streamlined by John Lanhberry, prinicpal conductor of the Royal Ballet in London, who will conduct in Vienna for the first .time. He has turned the four acts of the old version of this ballet story into two, but kept the prologue.
