BAHAMAS GOVT.
Invitation To Negro (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NASSAU, January 15. A Negro barrister, Mr Lynden O. Pindling, was yesterday invited to form a new Bahamas Government, the first non-white Government the colony has had in 300 years. The crisis which arose from dead-heat elections last week appeared to have been solved. The British Governor, Sir Ralph Grey, invited the 36yeanold Negro leader of the Progressive Liberal Party to form a Government, after three days of uncertainty. Mr Pindling is expected to have his Cabinet ready and to take over as Premier tomorrow.
