(N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Matamata gelding Geyser Land finished brilliantly from the rear to win the £2OOO John Wells Handicap at Avondale on Saturday. The second leg, the Flying Handicap, was won by the smart three-year-old, Styx. The double, Geyser Land and Styx, paid £63 8s for £l.
