(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. J. M. McNab (Christchurch) beat F. W. Peters (Dunedin), 26-24, 26-18, to win the open event at the South Island croquet championships played at Timaru on Saturday. Results: — Championships doubles (playoff for runner-up): Mesdames J. Anderson (Dunedin), and M. Robertson (Christchurch) beat Mesdames V. Whitcombe and H. Bleasdale, 26-25.

Handicap Doubles.—Mrs H. Dempsey and J. Frewen beat Mrs Robertson and Mrs Bleasdale, 26-24; Porter and Mrs Porter beat F. W.
