COMMERCIAL Overseas Trend Easing Off
(N.Z. Press Association—Coppriflht) SYDNEY, January 6. Sydney stock market, after following a slight upward trend over the past week the market closed a shade easier today.
Trading was highlighted by several significant price movements in leading stocks; C.R.A. gained 24c to 554. B.H.P. fell 8 cents to 656 and Mt. Isa fell 7 to 420. The total turn-over of 1,052,000 including 444,000 mining was heavy. In Melbourne, industrials were again • firm with rises well in excess of falls. The upswing by leaders tapered Off. Some key stocks eased— B.H.P. down 6 cents to 658. Most base metals and oils firmed but Mount Isa dropped 9 cents to 418. Kathleen Investments featured with a gain of 13 cents to 293.
