Great Race Likely At Cambridge

“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. The stage is set lor a great battle at Cambridge tonight between Waitaki Hanover and Tobias, the stars of the Auckland Trotting Cup meeting. They are in the Flying Mile, the first leg of the T.A.B. double on the opening night of the Cambridge Trotting Club’s meeting. They will dominate the betting. Waitaki Hanover is favoured to win, mainly because he has drawn better. But Tobias is "fighting fit,” according to his trainer, and is sure to be very hard to beat.

The race has drawn a fine field. After Waitaki Hanover and Tobias, the best-backed may be Viking Water. Our Eileen will be a warm favourite for the second leg, the Leamington Free-for-AH. She would be giving long starts if the race were a handicap. The forecast is for favourable weather and the track will be fast. Selections:—
