Reefton Horses For Kurow

The Reefton trainer, J. Lalor, will be represented by a strong team at the Kurow Jockey Club’s meeting at Kurow today, and should add to an already successful record on the South Canter-bury-North Otago holiday circuit

After three seconds from his last four starts, Clipper looks the logical winner of the Kurow Cup, the main event and first leg of the T.A.B. double. At his last start Clipper was beaten by a neck by Quick Flight at Oamaru and a win today would be just reward for his consistency. Lalor also has a fancied runner in the second leg of the TA.B. double, the Haka-

taramea Hack Handicap—Red Treasure, which has had a win and two placings from her last four runs. She finished unplaced at Oamaru last start but was checked at the half-mile and lost her chance. She is also down to run in the H. J. Delargy Hack Handicap, in which Lalor also has Debbie Marie, a last start winner at Oamaru. Debbie Marie has 9-6 in this, the second leg of the on-course double, and could miss the event to tackle the open sprinters in the T. A. Munro Handicap, which has drawn a small field of six. Lalor also has Jayess in the open sprint and after his

easy win at Oamaru last start he is the likely favourite. The Riccarton runner, Last Count, which is entered for both the Dommett High-weight and the Kurow Cup, is to run in both events. The track is in good order.
