POLICE IN CYPRUS
Reinforcements Leave (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. Fifteen policemen selected for peace-keeping duties with the United Nations’ command in Cyprus left this morning in an R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules. The draft is the sixth sent from here since police help was sought for Cyprus in 1964. The men, on a six-months’ duty, were led by Inspector B. K. Dean, of the Police Training School, Prentham, with his second *in - command, Senior-Sergeant W. K. Egan, of Porirua. The draft was seen off by Chief Superintendent F. O. Scott. A telegram from the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) expressed the thanks of the Government and people for the work the New Zealand detachments were doing.
