Railwayman Killed
(N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, Dec. 29. A railwayman was killed in a shunting accident in the Blenheim yards early this morning. He was William Edward Withers, aged 49, a train examiner, of 35 Lucas street, Blenheim. The police believe Mr Withers was thrown to the ground by the leading waggon of a shunting rake and run over before he could get clear. Mr Withers came to Blenheim five years ago from Otira. Before that he was stationed at Greymouth.
