Sir, —Over the years the citizens of Christchurch have no doubt become accustomed to the stage appointments at ‘he Civic Theatre and no longer regard them with raised eyebrows. The peculiar backdrop and tattered curtain are always with us. But people from outside our little community cannot feel the same. If there is not enough money in the kitty to replace these obvious eyesores, perhaps there is some firm or organisation which would make a gift of enough material to repair the deficiency and restore our civic pride.—Yours, etc., WONDERING.
