Flying Scouts
The Boy Scouts’ Association Venturer scout flying school, to be held at Matamata in January, has been given an unexpected boost by support from Air New Zealand. The airline is arranging air transport for most of the students from the school to Auckland to visit its maintenance and overhaul establishment and technical training school. An Air New Zealand flying instructor will also assist with flying training of the Venturer scouts. Other flying instructors will be attending from the Department of Civil Aviation, the National Airways Corporation, Straits Air Freight Express, and some aero clubs and flying schools.
