Bequest Of Painting
(N.Z. Press Association) I WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. A valuable Italian landscape painting by the Tuscan artist Francesco Zuccarelli (1702-1788) will be presented to the National Art Gallery on behalf of Mrs H. Bacon, of New Plymouth next Wednesday. Announcing the gift this morning, the director, Mr S. B. McClennan, said the oil was a bequest under the will of Mr Bacon, and was titled “Cattle and Wagon.”
The same artist was featured in the collection of Lord Cobham, and was one of an extensive collection of paintings, furniture and ceramics by the late Mr Bacon in his New Plymouth home.
