“There is only one reason for the existence of a church school, and that is the training of a particular quality of character and behaviour,’’ the headmistress of St. Margaret's College (Miss M. I. Mullan) said at the annual prize-giving ceremony last night. This was an addition to the fundamental requirement that the church school must measure up with the best State schools in every respect, she said.
