Hungary Buys U.K. Turkeys
(N.Z P.A.-Reutcr) BUDAPEST. Turkeys imported for breeding from Norwich, England, are setting new standards in i Hungary, according to reports received from a farm in southwest Hungary. The birds, imported as dayold chicks, are now 16 weeks old and already as big as fully grown Hungarian turkeys. Eventually the hens are expected to weigh about 151 b, and cocks twice as much.
The breeding farm reports that it hopes to have by next year some 80,000 day-old turkeys of English stock to distribute to state and co-opera-tive farms of the region.
