Man’s Death In Collision James Clifford Draper, aged 46, was found by the Coroner (Mr A. T. Bell) to have died at the Christchurch Hospital on April 8, the cause of death being intracerebral hemorrhage, suffered when the car he was driving and one driven by John Thomas Curtis Swale collided at Charing Cross, in the Darfield district. The inquest was concluded in the Coroner’s Court on Wednes- : day. Nora Elizabeth Draper, a < widow, said that on April 7 she was returning home with her husband and children. They were driving along Bealey road about 52 miles an ’ hour and on approaching Tele- ! graph road her husband slowed down. She saw a bright light on the right and the car ; overturned. She was knocked unconscious. When she recovered she found her hus- : band lying on the ground ; deeply unconscious.
