AUCKLAND, Dec. 7.
The Auckland bass, Donald Mclntyre, has been chosen to sing in Wagnerian opera at Bayreuth, Germany.
He joins the select band of opera singers who are invited to sing at the leading Wagnerian festival in the world.
In a letter to his parents, Mr and Mrs G. D. Mclntyre, of Mount Eden, he said he had been chosen to sing the part of Count Frederick Telramund in "Lohengrin.** He would sing in eight performances of the opera over seven weeks next July.
