VORSTER APPEAL
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PRETORIA, Dec. 7. The South African Prime Minister, Mr Vorster, made last night what amounted to a strong appeal to Britain and Rhodesia to settle their dispute “even at this late hour.”
Mr Vorster said his Government did not think such a last-minute settlement was impossible. He also sharply criticised Britain for going to the United Nations for mandatory sanctions against Rhodesia, saying that this would probably create interminable bitterness and damage. No-one’s cause would be served by it, he said.
