PROPELLER BENT

Plane Hits Runway

(N.Z. Press .Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5.

A light aircraft had its propeller bent and front tyre damaged when landing at Wellington airport today. The .aircraft, a Canterbury Aero Club Comanche, arrived about 1 p.m. when the wind was gusting from 25 to 35 miles an hour.

The aircraft, flown by Mr J. Priest, of Christchurch, hit the runway heavily in the landing approach, then rose into the air again.

It began a circuit which took it out over Wellington harbour. The aircraft was picked up by radar at Wellington airport, and “talked down” to the runway where it landed safely.
