In a surprise decision late today, the full bench of the Arbitration Commission upheld appeals by flight stewards’ and airline hostesses' associations against their members being stood down without pay because of the pilots’ strike. The judgment will immediately put back into work and on the payroll 500 stewards and 150 hostesses.
