TEMPLETON AREA

Review To Wait

A review of the Templeton urban area could not be made until the requirements of its whole region were reviewed, the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority agreed yesterday. The executive reported that a deputation from the Paparua County Council had been met; but the executive did not think the need for a possible extension of Templeton was urgent. It would be undesirable to consider a major development without having regard to the requirements of the region, and it would take almost as long to make a modification to the regional planning scheme as to reach completion of the current scheme review.
