Sailing To Antarctic
Three Antarctic-bound vessels are expected to sail from Lyttelton this week. These are the supply tanker Alatna, newly arrived from Yokohama loaded with aviation spirit and jet fuel, and due out tomorrow; the icebreaker Staten Island, due to sail tomorrow if her engine repairs have been completed; and H.M.N.Z.S. Endeavour, which is expected to sail about Thursday, after loading stores for Scott Base and approximately 1800 tons of motor spirit and diesel fuel for McMurdo Sound.
