EXPENSIVE COLT
Purchase For N.Z. Trainer "The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. The Normanby trainer,. D Grantham, purchased the three-year-old colt, Caliburn, at the Harrisburg Sales, New York, last month for 17,000 dollars. The colt was bought by a North Wales trotting owner, Mr J. S. Jones, acting as agent. Mr Jones said later that he was acting for the New Zealand trainer, D. Grantham, for whom he had secured several horses in the last few years to race at Prestatyn Raceway in Wales. It was likely that Caliburn would be raced in New Zealand before retiring to the stud.
