House Sold For £4100
A roughcast house of about 1600 square feet converted into three self-contained flats at 14 Churchill street, Avonside, was sold for £4lOO at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of Margaret Amelia Thomas by George' Anderson and Son. The auctioneer was Mr J. Dyer. Outbuildings on the section of 30 perches, zoned residential B, include a bach, two Army huts, and sheds. The rates are about £3B, and the Government valuation is £3400. The opening bid was £3500. There were five bids of £lOO, and four of £25. A two-storey slate-roofed weatherboard house and a garage on a section of 25.1 perches at 91 Rossall street, Merivale, was passed in .at £5OOO. The property was offered on account of Mrs M. E. Sandford by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd., acting in conjunction with Mr F. G. Stanbridge. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. The house has a livingroom, diningroom, sunroom, three bedrooms, bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry. The Government valuation is £4375. The initial bid was £4500. There were five bids of £lOO.
