(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) TOKYO. The police in Fukuoka, western Japan, believe they have smashed a gang of women shoplifters. The housewives formed two shoplifting rings which systematically lifted goods from towns near where they lived. One group concentrated on textiles and the other specialised in jewellery. The police estimated they had stolen at least £lO,OOO of textiles and jewellery.
