‘Avengers’ Role
Jonathan Elsom, an actor from Christchurch now working in England, has taken part in an episode of “The Avengers” with Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg. “Everybody is great fun to work with in this zany comedy thriller,” he wrote in a letter to his parents. The episode was “The SeeThrough Man,” the fifth in a new series being filmed for colour and ordinary television. It will probably be broadcast in New Zealand next year. Elsom, who returned to Christchurch to play Christ in the York Cycle during the Pan Pacific Arts Festival, has also appeared in two other television films. He was guest actor in the last episode of “The Troubleshooters,” a popular 8.8. C. series about a large oil company, and he took part in “Intrigue,” a 50minute play about industrial espionage for A.B.C. Television.
