Police Contingent For Cyprus Named
/New Zealand Press Aisociation) WELLINGTON, December 2. Members of the sixth New Zealand police contingent to cerve with the United Nations’ peace-keeping force in Cyprus were named this afternoon.
The contingent will be headed by Inspector B. K. Dean, of the Police Training School, Trentham. His second-in-command will be Senior Sergeant W. K. Egan, of Porirua.
Other members will be Senior Sergeant K. J. Holland (Wellington), Sergeant A. D. Allum (Dunedin), and Constables B. C. Anderson, N. B. Hawkins and E. R. Jordan (Wellington), R. M. Renz
(Auckland). R. J. Cutler (Thames), R. F. Burgess and J- M. Thurston (Palmerston North), D. G. Corbett (Stratford), J. C. McSkimming (Dunedin), I. L. Kingston (Christchurch), and B. K Walkinshaw (Invercargill). Five members of the fifth contingent have elected to remain in Cyprus for a further six-month term. They are Detective Constable A. E. Harris (Christchurch), and Constable I. C. London (Tauranga), G. H. Glossop (Auckland), J. W. Burn (Dargaville) and C. G. Mackay (Hastings). This week-end the contingent members will complete a week-long special training course at the Police School. They will fly to Cyprus by R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules, probably leaving Whenuapai on December 30.
