N.Z. DIVING TITLES
R. Hood Wins Men’s Event (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. In windy conditions, which made diving difficult, the New Zealand champion and Empire Games representative, R. Hood, wone the national one-metre diving competition at Palmerston North yesterday. Last year’s girl®' champion, Mis® K. Vincent, retained her title, and also won the women’s championships. C. Buscke, last year’s boys’ champion, also won again, and was second in the men’s event. Results were: Girts.—K. Vincent (Waikato), 248.85 points, 1; M. Lay (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay), 237, 2; S. McKinnon (Naenae), 153.05. 3. Boys.—C. Buscke (Bay of Plenty), 267.30, 1; M. Gazley (Wellington), 243.20, 2; T. Gledhilil (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay), 210.40, 3. Women,—K.
