Two Drivers Fined

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. J. Butcher, the driver of Honest Ken in the Eureka Handicap at the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday night, was fined £lO by the judicial committee for causing interference to Shortland (R. Green), which fell. F. R. Weaver, the driver of Spencer Boy in the Silverdale Handicap, was fined £l5 for allowing his horse to shift ground in the run home. After the Introductory Handicap an inquiry was held into the running of the favourite, Starman. The horse was inspected by a veterinary surgeon, who found abrasions on the near hind-leg. The horse was sore. He considered that Starman would be unfit to start on the second night of the meeting.
