SCRAMBLE CHAMPION
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. L. Petie became the New Zealand 500 c.c. motor-cycle scramble champion at his first attempt yesterday when he won the event at an Auckland Motorcycle Club meeting at Mangere mountain. Petie, an experienced Dannevirke rider, had never appeared in Auckland before. He took the lead at the halfway stake when the Palmerston North rider, G. Roblensky (8.5. A. slid off the course and dropped to second place. Petie’s time for the 10 laps was 9min 37.55ec.
