‘HOLDING OWN’
P.O. Savings Bank With more than 250.000 accounts the Post Office Savings Bank was more than holding its own against stiff competition, the Chief Postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson) said at the annual reunion of retired officers in Christchurch. The savings bank accounts had increased slightly this year in spite of the efforts of the opposition, he said. The Post Office was preparing for the conversion to decimal currency in July and a complex task was ahead for the savings bank, he said.
