Japan’s Forces Increased

Japan’s National Defence Council has approved plans to increase defence forces, buy more anti-aircraft missiles and expand anti-sub-marine patrols. These were some of the provisions outlined in a five-year defence programme to improve Japan’s capabilities to cope with localised warfare.
