TRAMPER FOUND
Search In Rain
Peter David Kennaway, who was reported overdue on a tramping trip in the Arthur’s Pass area on Monday, was found by a search party yesterday morning in the Mingha valley. He was reported by the police to
be “fit and well.”
Mr Kennaway had intended to tramp up the Mingha river and back tn Arthur's Pass over the Temple col. He lost his way in the Mingha valley and abandoned his pack and tent before attempting to find his way out. He was found at 8.30 a.m. about two-thirds of the way up the valley. Heavy rain in the area on Monday night and Tuesday morning, and flooded rivers hampered the searchers.
