JOBS AT WORKS
Settlement Of
Dispute
The Freezing Workers’ Association’s dispute at the Pukeuri works of the Waitaki Farmers’ Freezing Company had been resolved for the present, said the association’s general secretary (Mr F. E. McNulty) yesterday. All slaughtermen had been offered employment to begin next Monday. So far 80 slaughtermen had offered themselves for reengagement on the basis of seniority and were at present employed at the works, said Mr McNulty. “The union and the national association are not offering any objections to further slaughtermen beginning at Pukeuri, in view of the fact that all men eligible to start on seniority are being employed or are offered employment to start on Monday,” he said.
