"BOMBS ' REMARK CAUSES UPSET

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, November 23. Angry reaction to the “basinful of bombs” statement by New Zealand’s retiring Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) was received by New Zealand House this morning.

After taking a number or telephone calls expressing concern at Mr Eyre’s sentiments, New Zealand officials decided to seek “elucidation” from Wellington.
