Wool Cheaper At Invercargill

(SI. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 23.

The market at the second main Invercargill wool sale of the 1966 season was easier on recent rates at Auckland, with most crossbred fleece and hogget wool in buyers’ favour, says the official report.

An exception was fine-qual-ity wool, which showed little change. ' The offering of 23.919 bales was submitted to a full bench of buyers and consisted ' mainly of new season’s wool of strong and medium types. Although generally of good colour, much of the wool opened up disappointingly, heavy on condition with lines often containing dust , and several light vegetable fault. The principal buyers were the Continent, with support

from Japan on speciality types and moderate Bradford interest on woolly hoggets. The Wool Commission operated strongly on coarse crossbreds, and a proportion of hogget fleece and most oddments. It was more active than it has been so far this season. The following is the official range of prices:— d. d. Southdown, 58/60’s —
