GERIATRIC UNIT

Location To Be Changed A change in the location of a pr?posed geriatric unit from Coronation Hospital to the Princess Margaret Hospital 'has been approved by the Health Department. Negotiations to obtain plans of a similar unit designed for the Auckland Hospital Board had been started, said the North Canterbury Hospital Board’s Works Committee’s report, presented to yesterday’s board meeting. Approval in principle to plan an occupational therapy department adjacent to the geriatric block had also been received.

It was hoped proposals would mean reducing the time involved in providing the facilities by six months, said the chairman, Dr. L. C. L. Averill. He said he hoped to present a survey of all the board’s planned buildings for presentation to the December board meeting.
