Boycott ‘Ridiculous’

(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Nov. 22. The suggestion that voters may boycott the poll because of the Government’s support for the imposition of sanctions on Rhodesia was "just ridiculous,” the Prime Minister, Mr Holyoake, said today. He had been asked to comment on a report that the Aid Rhodesia Movement had dis-

tributed pamphlets in marginal seats urging electors not to vote. As far as he knew, the main groups of the movement were in the “far north” and while he was there he had discussed the Rhodesian question both publicly and privately, said Mr Holyoake. He said he believed the movement was “satisfied and pleased” with the action taken and with statements made both in New Zealand and overseas. The boycott suggestion was “just ridiculous” and would have “no support from those who know.”
